About the event
On March 25, we invite our guests to a liberating evening of imaginative theatre, filled with humor and self-irony, where we can recognize ourselves—laughing—in the roles we play every day.
Cast:
ILDIKÓ HÁMORI Kossuth and Jászai Mari Award-winning Hungarian actress, Merited and Distinguished Artist, permanent member of the Immortals’ Society
BARBARA HEGYI Jászai Mari Award-winning Hungarian actress, member of the Vígszínház Theatre
MÓNIKA TOLLÁR Director, moderator
"We all know the feeling when our opinion suddenly differs greatly from what it was just half an hour earlier—simply because we have stepped into a different role. Convincing your mother is one thing; persuading your child is another. Sometimes it’s hard to laugh at these situations, but sitting in a dark theatre, it’s easy to pretend they’re about someone else. This fast-paced, captivating performance quickly draws you in, and once you’re swept away, it’s hard to keep up appearances—laughter dissolves the inhibitions these situations place on us. Éva Janikovszky was too keen an observer for gentle humor to hide the truth: these stories are about us. It’s a rare, liberating laughter—one of the few things that truly works when facing life’s bigger questions."
As part of this imaginative theatre evening, two outstanding actresses engage in conversation with the moderator and with the audience.
