You are cordially invited to the opening of the Villa11 summer exhibition "Sit down next to me" by Szilvia Terdik. 

A recurring motif in Szilvia Terdik's paintings, her "muse" so to speak, is the BLOCK. An ordinary, everyday object, which at the same time appears in her works in an unusual way: it tells stories, depicts social issues and characters, and expresses deeply human emotions.        

"The chair is part of our everyday life. It symbolizes our divine humanity, as it presses the ground with its feet and reaches for the sky with its support. It symbolizes the two planes of existence, the material rooted in the earth and the transcendent looking up. In Szilvia Terdik's paintings, the chairs become almost human, thinking, feeling beings.... These chairs are us, these chairs are destinies, lives, examples and snapshots. Of everyone, of anyone, of anyone. ... " (quote from Anna Major Eszter Major).

As a conceptual artist, Szilvia Terdik's work is primarily defined by subject matter, in line with which she works in several different styles and often thinks in series.
She has exhibited her work in more than 20 solo and several group exhibitions, mainly in Hungary, but also in Brussels, Grozny and Transylvania (she is currently in the 100,000 artists in the Artfacts ranking of 1.1 million world artists).  

For her Villa11 exhibition, she is preparing a varied line-up where everyone can find a Chair - or an image - on the walls that touches them, that speaks to them in its entirety.
